The Marine Biodiversity Center at NHMLA has paid internship positions open for students to work in our lab. The expectation for work is 8-15 hours per week. We are looking for students this Spring 2024 who are biology majors to work with us in Invertebrate Research & Collections.
The Marine Biodiversity Center at NHMLA is offering a paid research opportunity for master's students. You will be trained in molecular laboratory techniques, bioinformatics, peracarid taxonomy, identification and description of new species, data management, and career development. Each student’s thesis will result in a peer-reviewed publication in a scientific research journal.
Masters students will have the opportunity to:
● learn lab techniques and gain molecular genetics skills,
● participate in field work,
● interact with national and international groups of professors, graduate students and postdocs,
● present research at scientific meetings, such as Western Society of Naturalists, Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology, or similar research conferences.
